Logic Inbox

Private SMS Organizer — Android

We missed SMS Organizer. So we rebuilt it — without the cloud.

Personal messages, bank alerts, orders and promotions sorted the moment they land, plus a finance passbook and reminders that write themselves. Everything is parsed on your phone — the app ships without the Internet permission, so it physically cannot send your messages anywhere.

Why we built it

A hole in every Indian inbox.

Microsoft's SMS Organizer was the quiet hero of Indian phones: banks, OTPs, deliveries and promos, each in its place. When it was discontinued — and the replacement everyone was pointed at dropped SMS categories — millions of inboxes went back to being one long, unsorted scroll.

So we did what we do at CatWave: scratched our own itch and shipped it. Logic Inbox is our take, built around one hard design rule — the app must never be able to send your messages anywhere. That ruled out cloud parsing, analytics and ad SDKs from day one, and it is why the app ships without the Internet permission. Not a privacy promise in a policy document; a constraint the operating system enforces.

Everything else follows from that: the classifier runs on the device, the passbook is built from SMS you already received, and the reminders are local alarms. It works in airplane mode, because it never needed the network in the first place.

What it does

Your SMS. Actually organized.

Sorted the moment it lands

Personal, Transactions, Orders and Promotions — every message filed into the right tab as it arrives. The categorisation ex-SMS-Organizer users miss, back where it belongs.

One-tap OTP

The code shows up big in the notification with a copy button — no opening the app, no scrolling a thread. Optional auto-clean keeps used codes from piling up.

Finance passbook

Credits, debits and balances read straight out of your existing bank SMS — no bank login, no account aggregator. Balances are masked by default; unlock to reveal.

Reminders that write themselves

Bill due dates, flights, trains and bookings are detected in the message and turned into a reminder — with a pay shortcut where one exists. Parsing and alarms are both local.

No Internet permission

Logic Inbox ships without android.permission.INTERNET. It is not a promise we ask you to trust — Android itself blocks the app from sending anything anywhere. Check it in app info.

Zero third-party SDKs

No analytics, no crash reporters, no ad networks, no sign-up. Nothing in the app is watching you use it, because there is nothing in the app but the app.

Under the hood

Built for Indian SMS, on the device.

On-device classifier

A rules engine tuned for India’s DLT/TRAI sender-ID system, bank and UPI formats, IRCTC and courier updates. No server round-trips — classification happens in milliseconds, offline.

Zero third-party SDKs

No analytics, no crash reporting, no ads. The APK contains our code and AndroidX, and nothing that phones home — which is what makes the no-network claim checkable.

Kotlin + Jetpack Compose

Material 3 with a full dark theme, a proper default-SMS-handler implementation (deliver, MMS, respond-via-message, compose), tested on the OEM skins people in India actually carry.
